QR codes are visible credentials

A Wi-Fi QR code encodes your network name and password in a form any phone camera can read. That is the point — and the risk. Anyone who can photograph or see the code can join the network. Place printed cards and screens thoughtfully: a café counter is fine; a street-facing window may not be.

You are the network administrator

WiFi Card displays and shares exactly the credentials you enter. We cannot verify that you administer a network, and we are not responsible for how you use the app. Only share networks you are authorized to share.

Guest-network recommendation

For public-facing placements, we recommend sharing a guest network: isolated from your primary devices, rate-limited, and easy to rotate. When you change a network password, update or delete the corresponding card in the app.

No affiliation

WiFi Card is an independent utility. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance, Apple, Google, or any router manufacturer. "Wi-Fi" is a trademark of the Wi-Fi Alliance.

Accuracy of joins

QR-to-join behavior depends on each phone's operating system, camera app, and network configuration (hidden networks, enterprise security, and some WPA3-only setups may not auto-join from a QR scan on every device). The card always contains the correct credentials; the join step itself belongs to the scanning device.
